Mathematics Contest
Information

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Houston will host a High School Mathematics Contest on February 2, 2019 on the University of Houston Central Campus. The location and directions can be found at http://mathcontest.uh.edu/DirectionstoSECBldg.pdf.

The contest will consist of 9 Individual Exams as well as The Smackdown Event. Note that the Team Project will not be part of this year's contest. Trophies and scholarships will be awarded to the top students from each individual exam. In addition, team trophies will be awarded to schools based upon overall student performance on the individual competitions. Individual exams will be given in the following areas:

Algebra I

Geometry

Algebra II

Pre-Calculus

Number Sense

Statistics

Calculus

Physics

Calculator

These exams will be given on the University of Houston Central Campus on the day of the contest, with a time limit of one hour.  Students can take at most one of the Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 and Precalculus Exams, and they can only take one of these exams if they are currently enrolled in the course. Every student is welcome to take the Number Sense, Statistics, Calculus, Physics and Calculator exams. Students can take at most 2 individual exams.
